E-CPR Simulation Video now live!

You can now watch a video of the recent multi-disciplinary E-CPR simulation which took place on the 1st October on our ECMO page.

This was a multi-displinary exercise which involved colleagues from the SAS, ED and critical care and followed the journey of initiation of VA ECMO for a patient in cardiac arrest from a refractory shockable rhythm. The simulation was lead by ECMO lead Dr Hartley.

The video covers the activation criteria, rule-in criteria and STOP criteria for E-CPR, alongside the process of cannulation and initiation of VA ECMO.

The E-CPR programme in NHS Lothian goes live within NHS Lothian on Monday 1st November.
