Our unit has an active, multi-faceted education programme which is designed to cater to the educational needs of all staff and students passing through the unit.

Our unit education programme caters to the needs of undergraduate medical students, nursing students, our nursing staff, doctors in training, ACCP group and our allied healthcare colleagues. 

​

The educational activities in the unit have been recognised for excellence - Our undergraduate medical student placement was recognised for a national excellence award at the National Quality Review Board in 2019-2020. 

​

In addition, our Mastery Simulation CVC programme designed to improve the safety and quality of CVC insertion was awarded a grant from the Edinburgh and Lothians healthcare foundation to improve and continue the programme.
